I just saw a Japanese program about Yoichi Sugiyama. His wife was actually pregnant at the time of the attack. She gave birth to her third son about half a year afterwards. The only trace of Yoichi found was his right thumb. His first son spoke at the 10th anniversary memorial in New York. One sad story amongst the many.

To dear Harumi, Tachi, Rikito, Mari and Kazusada Sugiyama, I live in Sydney Australia and last night we saw on National Geographic the very sad story about the 9/11 tragedy that took the life of your dearly beloved Yoichi. I wept for him and for you and send you all my love and prayers from Sydney. I also fly two lovely nobori in my garden during this sad time of remembrance for Yoichi. He is remembered by many in this world and you have support and friendship from many. Be strong at this time, love from Aunt Ena.

I am glad you came and visited us, but if I may make a correction for you, approx, 13 years ago we did have a very nice older lady come and play for them. The only reason I would like to correct you, is I don’t want her forgotten and left in the past. She was so kind and peaceful, the inmates loved her dearly. And she played so wonderful. I know this because I supervised this call out for a few years, and she even left an impression on me.
