Rosary Red

Rosary Red

Apparently this has been moving around the internet. You pick your favorite prayers, then tag others to do the same.

I was tagged by Justin Combs, who is a fellow Catholic Musician from Ohio. I found out about this via a tweet.  I followed the links backwards and learned about other musicians and or Catholics. Clayton Imoo, Odd Walk Ministries, Bob Rice   and the links go on…and on…!

Prayers I love…here are 3!

17th Century Nun’s Prayer

Lord, Thou knowest better than I know myself that I am growing older and will someday be old.

Keep me from the fatal habit of thinking I must say something on every subject and on every occasion.

Release me from craving to straighten out everybody’s affairs.

Make me thoughtful but not mooday.

Keep my mind free from the recital of endless details; give me wings to get to the point.

Seal my lips on my aches and pains.

I dare not ask for improved memory, but for humility and a lessening cocksureness when my memory seems to clash with the memories of others. Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be mistaken.

Give me the ability to see good things in unexpected places, and talents in unexpected people. And, give me, O Lord, the grace to tell them so.

Amen

The next two are very short.

Jesus, remember me, when you come into your Kingdom.

Lord, Jesus, Come. Be with me now.

So to pass this on to others:

I tag Heartfelt Heartlook, who is Margaret Corbitt, who also writes for the Catholic Examiner. She wrote lyrics for a song of mine! The lyrics came first, and then the music.  Met her on Twitter..

The Snoaring Scholar written by Sarah Reinhard, has many irons in the fire..family, books, new media galore. And she is very nice, too!  Met her on Twitter….

The Sober Catholic  I know prayer is a huge part of recovery. I know Robin Meyers will have some great prayers. Met him on Twitter….

Did I mention, that I met these great people on Twitter? These, and a lot more!

Update:

UPDATE: I’ve done some digging….apparently this is not a verified account for the Pope. So, I apologize for posting my excitement, before checking out all the details.

However, I still stand by my statement about the Pope’s book. And I still am proud to be a Catholic. And I still believe what the Church teaches. Yes, we, as individuals, are all capable of making mistakes. But the Church will stand and remain forever..Jesus started it, and He promised to be with the Church for all time. He gave us 12 Apostles from the beginning, and they are Jesus’ Friends. And they are my friends, too. Pray for us, all ye Saints in Heaven!

Original Post:  Found this on twitter….read the link…and comments…and I had to reply.

hmmm – I’ve never had the reddit community so enthusiastic about a post of mine! http://www.liturgy.co.nz/blog/other-friends-of-jesus/3741

So I sent this in reply to @Liturgy

@Liturgy I don’t think the Pope had any intentions of slighting women. He was highlighting the Apostles, plus Paul, and for children.

Later, I got this….the RT from @TheBishopOfRome…

RT @PatriceEgging: @Liturgy I don’t think the Pope had any intentions of slighting women. He was highlighting the Apostles, – True !!

whose web site link was: http://www.vatican.va    and the user name on the Twitter page: Joseph Ratzinger! I presume this is the Real deal.   Any, I love you, my dear Papa!

The word   -True!!    with two exclamation points, no less!

I am really humbled…sometimes you just don’t know what will happen to you when you wake up in the morning. (ps  yes, this humbled me.)
