Worry and stress are a normal part of my day. Agree or disagree?
I am so tempted by everything..that’s just the way I am. Agree or disagree?
I have to work hard and do all I can to provide for my family. No one else cares. Agree or disagree?
I am a worry wart, I have to admit. I worry more than the ordinary bear. (Where that came from I don’t know!! From the depths of sayings and quotes..unknown)
I find rocks. Maybe I’ve told you that before. I think God gives them to me for inspiration. This one is a reflection of what worry does. It gives you wrinkles….in this case, very solid, permanent wrinkles. One thing I can think of to get rid of permanent worry wrinkles is the soothing caress of God’s Hand….and His word. Here’s one of His favorites:
(Matthew 11:28-30) 28 “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.””
Rocks can be very HEAVY. A great Burden. Rocks of worry…about what I did last week to that person in my life..what I said…what I failed to do…or failed to say. Big rocks.
In our Parish we have a burden basket ..a gift from our sister Parish, an Apache Mission. A reminder to put our burdens, our worries, and leave them at the altar..for him to carry for us. He had all of our burden with Him as he carried that cross..and as he suffered for us. He did that willingly. For you. For me.
Padre Pio, one of my favorite role model of faith, a Saint, said
Pray, and don’t worry.
Will you release your Wrinkle Rock…to be gently led to His rest? Agree or disagree?
